Reima x Alexander Read
Together for More Outdoor Play, Life Resilience and a Childhood in Motion
Childhood does not happen on a screen. It happens outdoors. In play. In movement. In relationships. At Reima, we believe in the power of outdoor play — not only as activity, but as a foundation for physical and mental resilience. That is why we are proud to collaborate with Alexander Read.

A Voice for Outdoor Play and Life Mastery
Alexander Read is an outdoor therapist, expedition leader and filmmaker.
Through five TV series, lectures and documentary projects, he shares stories of both long and close-to-home journeys, family life, parenthood and the importance of nature in children’s development.
He combines the adventurous with the intimate — from polar expeditions to everyday play around the campfire — highlighting how nature can serve as an arena for mastery, inner strength and belonging.
Through his work, he shows how nature is not merely a place we visit — but a method and a way of life for prevention, public health and relationship-building.
From Everyday Play to Expedition
Alexander communicates both the long journeys and the close-to-home experiences.
Through his own family life, he demonstrates how nature can be a meeting place between parents and children — not as performance, but as presence.
From everyday play in the local environment to larger expeditions, the purpose remains the same:
to build resilience, curiosity and courage — through play.

Together for a More Playful Future
The collaboration between Reima and Alexander is about more than clothing.
It is about elevating outdoor play as a powerful force in children’s lives.
Together, we aim to contribute to:
more free outdoor play
stronger relationships between children and adults
deeper connection to nature
physical and mental life resilience
through words — and through action.
For us, it is about making it easier to choose nature.
Every day.

Turmagi – Social Entrepreneurship in Practice
An important part of the collaboration is Turmagi — Alexander’s social outdoor organization.
Turmagi works to strengthen life skills and inner resilience in children and young people together with their families. At a time when mental and physical health challenges are increasing, and where connection to nature and free play are losing ground to over-structured childhoods, sedentary habits and excessive screen use, Alexander is working to influence a different direction.
Through:
Father groups and parent groups outdoors
Outdoor family dinners with free meals and play
Free play in nature
Low-threshold community initiatives and local gatherings
life-resilient children are built, parents grow more confident, and relationships become stronger.
Reima is involved — in words and in action — contributing clothing and resources that make it possible to develop and implement new social public health initiatives using nature as a method.
